Art District
Our Vision
In many towns and cities, there are areas that have fallen into disrepair, becoming derelict and neglected. These areas can be an eyesore, but they can also be an opportunity to create something new and exciting. That's exactly what we're doing in the Union | Pine Art District. We've decided to turn a derelict area that we love into a thriving community gathering place.
We've gathered a group of like-minded people who share our visio. We have artists, business owners, community leaders, and other interested individuals who are all working together to make the dream a reality.
We want to create a space that is unique and reflects the character of Spartanburg. Think of it as an INCREDIBLE playground for Converse Heights, South Converse, Duncan Park, and Andrews Farm!
We're exploring funding options, such as grants and crowdfunding, to help us achieve our goals and if you have other ideas we would love to hear them!
One of the most exciting things about the idea is the community involvement. We're engaging with the surrounding neighborhoods through workshops and events, getting their input on what they would like to see here. Mark your calendars for September 16th for Retail on the Rail Trail!Â
We're also creating a social media campaign to promote the art district and keep people informed about our progress (shameless plug: follow @theleroygroup on insta!).
It's not just about following a plan, it's about being creative and flexible. We're involving the community in the process and creating a place that not only reflects the character of our town, but it also assists Spartanburg in continuing to find its identity as a place where young people will want to stay. We're already seeing the benefits and are excited about what the future holds.
